Tourism Spindleruv Mlyn
Spindleruv Mlyn Information centre KRNAP Labsky dul - Mala Upa mountain hotel POMEZNÍ BOUDA
You can see guests from Alps and Scandinavia on this trail, as well as something you probably know only from fairy tales books - dead water. We visit of course also the highest and most visited Czech mountain. From Divci lavky (Girls´ footbridges) to the Spindlerova bouda (chalet) and to Maly Spicak.
We can get to the Spindlerova bouda by bus from the Divci lavka as well as from Spindleruv Mlyn. Or we can follow the green marked path (3 km from Divky lavky). Then we continue east on the red marked trail and we ascend under the top of Maly Sisak. Slopes are covered with debris and partly with dwarf mountain pine.
The whole trail from Spindlerova chalet to Jelenka chalet leads through the first zone of the National Park (most strictly protected area) and the Giant Mountains National Park Administration thanks you for following the marked touristic paths (in winter are routes marked by poles). From Maly Sisak to Velky and Maly rybnik (big and little pond). The trail goes along the north slope. We can see Stribrny hrbet on the right, we pass Poledni kamen and we come above the largest glacial lake in the Giant Mountains - Velky rybnik (Wiekl Staw), area of 6,5 ha, depth 28 m. One kilometer further, there is the Maly rybnik. We continue to Snezka mountain from the Maly rybnik.
We come along a mountain road where the red mark join the blue mark coming from the left, from Poland, and they continue together across the Obri plan to the Slezska chalet. If we do not descent along the blue marked trail through the Giant Valley to Pec pod Snezkou, we continue along the red marked trail to the top of Snezka mountain.
From Snezka mountain to the Pomezni boudy on the Obri ridge. During the descent from Svorova mountain, we cross the alpine timberline and dwarf mountian pines replaced spruces - at this boundary they grow only 5-7 metres and are considerably deformed by the direction of the winds (flag trees).
From chalet Jelenka we can go to Pomezni boudy either by the red marking across Sovi sedlo or by the yellow marking. From Pomezni boudy, you cen go by bus to Pec pod Snezkou or to Trutnov.
