Coronavirus restrictions have been eased so that they can once again invite you to exhibitions that no one has been able to visit for many months. The Krkonoše Museum in Jilemnice, the Historical Houses on Náměstí Míru in Vrchlabí, the Memorial of Fallen Patriots in Paseky nad Jizerou and the Šindelka Forestry and Hunting Exhibition in Harrachov are opening their gates.

The time has come for frogs to migrate to their spawning grounds. Ideal for them is a warm humid evening, when, driven by the reproductive instinct, they set out on a dangerous pilgrimage. Every year, many of them end up under the wheels of cars crossing roads. In the Giant Mountains, frogs help protect permanent and temporary barriers so that amphibians do not end up under the wheels of cars. Conservationists then go to check the barriers several times a day. In the current weather, there are not so many frogs, but when it rains, their number will double.

Work on the former Augustinian monastery in Vrchlabí, the seat of the Krkonoše Museum of the KRNAP Administration, continues despite all the difficulties. We plan to ceremoniously open the new Visitor Center of the Krkonoše National Park until 2023, when we will celebrate the 140th anniversary of the museum and the 60th anniversary of the Krkonoše National Park.

They can be disturbed by curious observers, but also by the supply of ridge huts.

Following the declaration of eight quiet areas and the related reservation of roads and routes in these areas, the Administration of the Krkonoše National Park temporarily closes certain roads or their sections from 15 March to 31 May 2021, in order to protect against the disturbance of sensitive species. animals. This measure enters into force for the first time this year and is of a long-term nature. In the field, these sections will be clearly marked with a sign with the accompanying text "No entry due to nature protection from March 15 to May 31".

The main role will be played by Kryštof Hádek. The first flap fell on Sunday, February 21, in Františkov near Rokytnice nad Jizerou. In the following days, the staff will move to Medvědí boudy, Labská bouda, Luční bouda and other authentic places.
